The Gauntlet

The Gautlet

This model was a self work project assigned to me during the Snappy Gurus bootcamp. The theme I was given was to design a medieval style gauntlet.

For references, I researched historical museum collections and reached out directly to experts in the field. I had the chance to consult with medieval costumer Daniele Gelsi, who was extremely generous in sharing valuable insights and advice.
In terms of design, I followed the aesthetics of the Italian Renaissance, with particular inspiration from the works of Filippo Negroli, a renowned 16th century Italian armorer. Since these types of armors were often ceremonial and decorative rather than made for battle, I chose to portray the gauntlet in pristine condition, free of wear and tear.
